Developmental guidelines for 0-5 years

List of things to do

We still have a long list of things that need to get done before Amelia makes her appearance.  Given that we are both either (1) tired or (2) slackers, these will likely not get done until the last possible second :)

Nursery

• Clean out Dave's old den, box up stuff and get any 'den' stuff moved to the new downstairs den
• Paint the (now) nursery (Dave's old den)
• Decide on the flooring for the nursery...we're thinking a nicer laminate, with a rug so that Amelia doesn't trash her knees once she starts moving around...or we may wait a bit and go with carpet when we get the living room carpet replaced next spring
• Move all the baby stuff from the game room to the nursery (once we get it painted with flooring taken care of)

Bedroom

• Clean up room and put everything away
• Move the computer desk from the bedroom to Dylan's room, move his current desk to Amanda's room
• Switch sides of the bed - the baby can't be on the window side of the bed (noise, cold, etc) so we have to switch everything around so she can be on Kris's side of the bed away from the window

Game Room

• Get all the baby stuff out of there!
• Move the pool table to Josh's house
• Get rid of the old plasma TV
• Have the carpet cleaned
• Get a couch and move around all the furniture so it is reasonably baby proof

Dave's (new) den

• Get all the furniture moved from the old den - includes mostly the desk, but also the mount for my work computer and some other small stuff
• Put up window coverings - maybe curtains? shutters? who knows at this point...
• Build a wall to block off the den from the entryway
• Put in a door so the whole den is blocked off

Living room

• Nothing for now, but new carpet next spring and we'll likely replace the original laminate flooring throughout the downstairs at some point

Introduction

Well, we are now less than 2 weeks away from the big day...things are going well (for me at least!) and other than a surprise visit, we expect to see Amelia on August 18.  I'll be using this blog to post pictures, funny witticisms and any other horrible parenting moments I'm sure we'll see.
